Providence’s Kris Dunn Named CBS Sports All-American

After being named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press on Monday, Kris Dunn was named a Third Team All-American by CBSSports.com on Tuesday. The voters for this All-American list are CBSSports.com writers Gary Parrish, Matt Norlander, Sam Vecenie, Chip Patterson and Jon Rothstein. Dunn was also named a Second Team All-American by NBCSports.com back on March 9th.

Neither the CBSSports.com nor the NBCSports.com All-American teams are officially recognized by the NCAA. However, the fact that Dunn was recognized by national media members in both instances makes a strong case for Dunn’s inclusion on preseason All-American lists and subsequent national media attention should he return to Providence next season. This is something I’m sure Ed Cooley will be telling Dunn and his family when they meet next week to go over Dunn’s options. He has until April 26th to declare for the NBA Draft.
