Recap
- Providence traveled to Newark to take on Seton Hall for the 102nd time. The Friars were 21-28 against the Pirates on the road, including an overtime loss last season at the Prudential Center in early February in the last meeting between the two schools. This game came down to Seton Hall outplaying Providence in nearly ever facet. The Friars didn’t shoot well and allowed a 19-0 run by the Pirates in the first half that broke the game open. The Friars would make a last ditch effort to get back in the game but it was too little, too late. Kyron Cartwright clearly wasn’t himself and Jalen Lindsey missed a number of good looks from beyond the arc.
- Providence was led by Alpha Diallo with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
- Seton Hall was led by Khadeen Carrington with 23 points and 7 assists.
- Providence falls to 14-8 on the season and their record in Big East play is now 5-4.
- The Friars have a quick turnaround out in Milwaukee on Saturday against Marquette at the BMO Bradley Center. That game tips at 2:30pm on FS1.
