- Providence and UMass met for the 33rd time ever on Saturday afternoon at the Mullins Center in Amherst. The Friars were shorthanded with Alpha Diallo and Maliek White out due to injuries they both suffered in Providence’s overtime win against Brown on Wednesday night. Kyron Cartwright, who didn’t start against Brown before entering with to play the final 15 minutes of regulation and overtime, was back in the starting lineup for this game but clearly isn’t 100%.
- Providence was led by Rodney Bullock with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
- Also in double figures for the Friars was Jalen Lindsey with 11 points.
- UMass was led by Luwane Pipkins with 30 points on 12/16 shooting.
- Also in double figures for the Minutemen were Rashaan Holloway with 11 points and C. J. Anderson with 10 points.
- Providence falls to 7-3 on the season.
- The Friars return home to take on Stony Brook on Saturday, December 17th at the Dunk after the exam break. That game tips at 2:30pm and will air on FS1.
