Recap
- Providence and Georgetown went back and forth all afternoon at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. and they needed two overtimes to settle things after two late 3-pointer in regulation and the first overtime by Georgetown to tie the game. The Friars played from in front for a lot of the end of regulation and the first overtime, but the second overtime is when the Hoyas took control and fended Providence off to defend their home court.
- Providence was led by Alpha Diallo with 24 points and 13 rebounds for his 12th career double-double. Drew Edwards gave Ed Cooley some great minutes off the bench and scored 19 points. The other Friars in double figures were Nate Watson 21 points and Isaiah Jackson with 13 points.
- Georgetown was led by Jessie Govan with 33 points and 14 rebounds.
- The Friars returns home to take on Seton Hall at the Dunk on Tuesday. That game against the Pirates tips at 6:30pm and will air on FS1.

One response to “Friars Lose (2OT): Providence 90, Georgetown 96”
I don’t know whether they were told not to foul at the end of regulation or they just didn’t do there job. If it was the coaching then I think that was a big mistake. They should have fouled and probably would have won that game in regulation.
