We’ve made it all the way to the final weekend of the Big East season but the madness of March is just about to get started. All ten Big East teams are tipping off on Saturday and there is still some jockeying going on for each seed line from 1 to 10, not to mention the NCAA Tournament implications that are in play with many of Saturday’s games. Here’s the final Big East Tournament Seed Watch of the 2017-18 season.

The first game of the tournament will be at 7pm on Wednesday, March 7th with another game that night at 9:30pm. The first round, quarterfinals and semifinals will be broadcast on FS1 and the finals will be broadcast on FOX.

Here is where we stand through games on 2/28/2018:

Seed Movement Scenarios

This is the final edition of “Seed Watch” before all 10 teams will play their final games on Saturday. Those games will determine the final seed positions for each team. No teams are technically locked into their spots right now, but there are some that are locked into groupings. I’ll give scenarios on a team-by-team basis below.

If Xavier…

• Wins against DePaul the Musketeers lock up the 1 seed with 15 league wins.
• Loses against DePaul and Villanova loses against against Georgetown the Musketeers would be the 1 seed.
• Loses against DePaul and Villanova wins against against Georgetown the Musketeers would be the 2 seed.

Best Case: 1; Worst Case: 2

If Villanova…

• Wins against Georgetown and Xavier loses against DePaul the Wildcats are the 1 seed after winning the H2H tiebreaker with Xavier.
• Wins against Georgetown and Xavier wins against DePaul the Wildcats are the 2 seed
• Loses against Georgetown the Wildcats are the 2 seed

Best Case: 1; Worst Case: 2

If Creighton…

• Wins against Marquette, the Bluejays lock up the 3 seed with 11 league wins.
• Loses against Marquette, Seton Hall wins against Butler and Providence loses against St. John’s, the Bluejays would be the 3 seed.
• Loses against Marquette, Seton Hall loses against Butler and Providence loses against St. John’s, the Bluejays would be the 4 seed.
• Loses against Marquette, Seton Hall wins against Butler and Providence wins against St. John’s, the Bluejays would be the 4 seed.
• Loses against Marquette, Seton Hall loses against Butler and Providence wins against St. John’s, the Bluejays would be the 5 seed.

Best Case: 3; Worst Case 5

If Seton Hall…

• Wins against Butler, Creighton loses against Marquette and Providence wins against St. John’s, the Pirates would be the 3 seed.
• Wins against Butler, Creighton loses against Marquette and Providence loses against St. John’s, the Pirates would be the 4 seed.
• Wins against Butler and Creighton wins against Marquette, the Pirates would be the 4 seed.
• Loses against Butler, Providence loses against St. John’s and Creighton wins against Marquette the Pirates would be the 5 seed.
• Loses against Butler, Providence loses against St. John’s and Creighton loses against Marquette the Pirates would be the 6 seed.
• Loses against Butler and Providence wins against St. John’s, the Pirates would be the 6 seed.
• Loses against Butler, Creighton loses against Marquette and Providence wins against St. John’s the Pirates would be the 7 seed.

If Butler…

• Wins against Seton Hall, Providence loses against St. John’s and Creighton loses against Marquette the Bulldogs would be the 3 seed.
• Wins against Seton Hall and Providence loses against St. John’s the Bulldogs would be the 4 seed.
• Wins against Seton Hall, Providence wins against St. John’s and Creighton loses against Marquette the Bulldogs would be the 4 seed.
• Wins against Seton Hall, Providence wins against St. John’s and Creighton wins against Marquette the Bulldogs would be the 5 seed.
• Loses against Seton Hall, Providence loses against St. John’s and Marquette wins against Creighton the Bulldogs would be the 5 seed.
• Loses against Seton Hall, Providence loses against St. John’s and Marquette loses against Creighton the Bulldogs would be the 6 seed.

If Providence…

• Wins against St. John’s, Creighton loses against Marquette and Seton Hall loses against Butler the Friars would be the 3 seed.
• Wins against St. John’s, Creighton wins against Marquette and Seton Hall loses against Butler the Friars would be the 4 seed.
• Wins against St. John’s and Seton Hall wins against Butler the Friars would be the 5 seed.
• Loses against St. John’s, Seton Hall wins against Butler and Creighton wins against Marquette the Friars would be the 5 seed.
• Loses against St. John’s, Seton Hall wins against Butler and Creighton loses against Marquette the Friars would be the 6 seed.
• Loses against St. John’s, Seton Hall loses against Butler and Marquette loses against Creighton the Friars would be the 6 seed.
• Loses against St. John’s, Seton Hall loses against Butler and Creighton loses against Marquette the Friars would be the 7 seed.

If Marquette…

• Wins against Creighton, Providence loses against St. John’s and Seton Hall loses against Butler the Golden Eagles would be the 5 seed.
• Wins against Creighton, Providence wins against St. John’s and Seton Hall loses against Butler the Golden Eagles would be the 6 seed.
• Loses against Creighton the Golden Eagles would be the 7 seed.

Best Case: 5; Worst Case: 7

If Georgetown…

• Wins against Villanova the Hoyas will lock up the 8 seed with their 6th win.
• Loses against Villanova, Xavier wins against DePaul and Providence loses against St. John’s the Hoyas would be the 8 seed.
• Loses against Villanova, Xavier wins against DePaul and Providence wins against St. John’s the Hoyas would be the 8 seed.
• Loses against Villanova, Xavier loses against DePaul and Providence wins against St. John’s the Hoyas would be the 9 seed.

Best Case: 8; Worst Case: 9

If DePaul…

• Wins against Xavier, Villanova wins against Georgetown and Providence wins against St. John’s the Blue Demons would be the 8 seed.
• Wins against Xavier and Villanova loses against Georgetown the Blue Demons would be the 9 seed.
• Loses against Xavier and Villanova loses against Georgetown the Blue Demons would be the 10 seed.

Best Case: 8; Worst Case: 10

If St. John’s…

• Wins against Providence and Xavier wins against DePaul the Red Storm would be the 9 seed.
• Wins against Providence, Xavier loses against DePaul and Villanova wins against Georgetown the Red Storm would be the 10 seed.
• Loses against Providence and Xavier wins against DePaul the Red Storm would be the 9 seed.
• Loses against Providence and Xavier loses against DePaul the Red Storm would be the 10 seed.

• Xavier beats DePaul, 82-75
• Providence beats St. John’s, 72-68
• Marquette beats Creighton, 84-83
• Villanova beats Georgetown, 89-69
• Seton Hall beats Butler, 77-74
