Providence is off to a 1-1 start on the season after beating Houston Baptist at Alumni Hall and losing at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center to 14th-ranked Minnesota on Monday night as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Friars are technically 0-1 ATS on the early season because their season opening game against Houston Baptist wasn’t consistently lined in Vegas and they failed to cover as 2 or 2.5 point favorites against Minnesota. This game against Washington is being played on a neutral floor at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2017 2K Classic. The scheduled tip is 9:30pm on ESPN2 but the ultimate starting time will be determined by when the 7:00pm game featuring Virginia Tech and Saint Louis finishes up.
Kenpom has this game as Providence winning, 81-70, and he gives Washington a 17% chance of winning.
