Arrinten Page Commits to Providence: Friars Add High-Major Transfer Big with Two-Way Tools

On the heels of getting a pledge from Yale big man Samson Aletan, Bryan Hodgson added another interior player to the roster rebuild in Friartown. Arrinten Page, the 6-11, 245-pound junior big man from Northwestern — who has also attended USC and Cincinnati — committed to the Friars after an on campus visit on Thursday.

Page was a 4-star, top-60 recruit in the class of 2023 out of Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA — the same high school as Sharaud Curry and Page played alongside NBA lottery pick Isaiah Collier while there — and committed originally to Andy Enfield and USC alongside Collier. Page’s freshman year was 10.7 MPG, 3.1 PPG, 2.1 RPG mostly off the bench for the Trojans and he transferred to Cincinnati after Enfield left for a fresh start at SMU. Sophomore year under Wes Miller had a similar statline at 9.1 MPG, 3.5 PPG and 2.3 RPG entirely off the bench in 31 games for the Bearcats. Page was on the move again last Spring and this time ended up at Northwestern where he would get a much larger role starting 16 of 29 games played while increasing to 22.9 MPG, 10.2 PPG, 4.5 RPG and 1.8 APG.

Hodgson’s system rewards versatile frontcourt players who can score in volume inside, protect the rim and contribute secondary playmaking which are all things Page has shown capable skill at doing at Northwestern. Page brings interior scoring and length with some “keep them honest” ability from beyond the arc that will complement the more defensive-focused and opportunistic dunking offense of Aletan.

There will be plenty of time to discuss who will start and how many minutes everyone on this roster will play, but for now the addition of Page brings another proven high major big man into the fold in Friartown. Look for Hodgson to add another guard and forward and fill out the rest of the roster with a mix of high school recruits and international players as the Friars currently sit at 8 players are rumored to be close to getting commitments from at least two others.
