A little more than a week after releasing a cut down list of 9 schools, 2019 Top-60 Greg Gantt has scheduled visits, both official and unofficial. Providence will get one of the three officials visits, along with Texas and Florida. The versatile player from North Carolina will be in Friartown on September 8th, he told Corey Evans of 247Sports.com while playing at the prestigious NBPA Top 100 camp in Virginia. Gantt also plans to take unofficial visits later this month to Georgia and Clemson. Other schools on Gantt’s list of 9 are Alabama, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
“Coach (Ed) Cooley has seen what a lot of other schools didn’t see in me very early,” Gantt told Evans of the Friar head coach. Providence was one of the first high major schools to offer Gantt, who runs with Team Felton.
Gantt has been arguably Providence’s top target in the 2019 class and the Friars are currently recruiting to a relatively small class with two open scholarships for the 2019-20 season. Expect to see Jeff Battle and Cooley all over Gantt during the July live periods that start in about a month.
