March is here and conference tournaments are either underway already or about to be underway this week. The buzzer beaters and Cinderella stories are both good reasons why college basketball in March is awesome, but another large factor is…gambling. Obviously gambling should only be done where legal by those who are allowed to partake. Having said that, here are odds for who will win the 2016 Big East Tournament, you know, for entertainment purposes.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Villanova | +110 |
Xavier | +225 |
Butler | +550 |
Seton Hall | +1000 |
Creighton | +1400 |
Providence | +1600 |
Georgetown | +3300 |
Marquette | +5000 |
DePaul | +50000 |
St. John’s | +50000 |
Odds courtesy of BOVADA |
To give some context, last season Providence was +900 by Bovada heading into the 2015 Big East Tournament and Villanova, the eventual champion last season, was at -150 heading into the week last year. For those unfamiliar with what these odds represent in terms of a payout for a bet, you would win $1,600 on a $100 bet if Providence won the Big East Tournament.
