Kobie Eubanks Announces Final 5

2015 guard Kobie Eubanks is one of the best available players in the 2015 class after failing to qualify at Baylor in the fall of 2014. The Florida native had previously cut his list to 10 exactly one month ago on January 5th. Providence made that cut. The Friars expressed interest after watching Eubanks score 37 points for Elev8 Sports Institute in the National Prep Showcase in New Haven back in November.

Now that he has had a month to think about his recruitment and take a visit to Oregon, the scoring guard has opted to cut his list further down to a final 5. Eubanks announced his final 5 on his Twitter account.

The Friars did not make the cut. I’m not overly surprised as generally when Providence is on a list with schools like Georgia, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri and Oregon the player usually is looking for something other than a small Northeast Catholic school. That certainly seems to be the case for the former Baylor commit.

His final 5 is Georgia, Missouri, Oregon, Texas and UCLA.

The search for a guard continues for Ed Cooley and his staff and with each passing game the likelihood that Kris Dunn may generate enough interest from NBA teams for the 2015 draft is growing. I wouldn’t rule out Cooley looking to add a junior college or 5th year transfer who would be eligible next season and the staff is clearly still looking in the 2015 class with offers out to players like Ricky Council and interest in other scoring guards like Tobias Howard.
