Providence Junior Rodney Bullock to Transfer

Providence will lose their leading scorer from this year’s NCAA Tournament team, X[ANNOUNCEMENT SOURCE]X. Rodney Bullock will graduate in May and be immediately eligible

Bullock averaged 15.7 points/game and 6.4 rebounds/game for the Friars in his second season on the court in his fourth year at Providence. He was suspended his first year and missed his second year with a torn ACL. Bullock averaged 11.4 points/game and 6.8 rebounds/game in his first action alongside Kris Dunn and Ben Bentil in 2015-16.

Bullock will be remembered in Friartown for converting Drew Edwards’ in-bound pass with mere seconds remaining in Providence’s 2016 NCAA Tournament win over USC to propel the Friars to their first win in the Big Dance since 1997. His play was largely inconsistent through 68 career games. He could seemingly score 20 points in a game just as easily as he could score 2.

Bullock is the SECOND/THIRD Providence player to transfer this offseason after Ryan Fazekas AND Ricky Council II also decided to move on. Ed Cooley now has TWO/THREE open scholarships to play with for next season. I expect at least one will go to a sit-out transfer while the other ONE/TWO could come from the available pool of 2017 high school seniors, graduate transfers or the junior college ranks.
