Inaugural Episode of the Providence Friarcast

The podcast has a new name! Shout out to Mike Gormley who suggested the name on Twitter last week. The inaugural Providence Friarcast features our full cadre of myself, Brendan McGair of the Pawtucket Times and Chris Grenham of BigEastCoastBias.com. Despite some technical issues on our first episode together we had a nice chat about the 2K Classic and Providence’s next game against Belmont. I also took a quick look ahead at the Friars game against Boston College on Saturday. Chris also interviewed BarstoolReags, the college basketball writer at barstoolsports.com, over the weekend. Also, check out Reags’ podcast Fundamentally Sound with former Wisconsin player Ben Brust.

It’s Officially the College Basketball Season and I Need Your Support

It’s finally time for the ball to go up. The 2017-18 season tips off tomorrow all across the country and with everything that’s been going on off the court it will be nice to finally see some real games take place. After the 2016-17 season ended in early April I wrote a post asking for your help to improve both the site and my coverage of Providence basketball. With the help I received from the wonderful patrons who have signed up over the last 7 months I’ve been able to greatly enhance the site.

Inaugural Friartown Fan Voice Podcast to Go Live This Week

Back during the summer I referenced something called the Friartown Fan Voice podcast. I was going to try to do the first one during the summer as a recruiting podcast but I just didn’t have the time. Now that the season is rapidly approaching and we are about 1 month from Providence’s home opener against Albany I figured this would be a good time to put the first one together. I’d prefer not to have me droning on myself for the entirety of this podcast. I want to hear from you. I set up a Google Voice phone number that is essentially a voicemail system for you to call and leave your question or comment or anything relating to Friar basketball. I’ve gotten a few calls so far but would like more voices to be heard. Please include your name and hometown so that I reference you correctly when I play your message or respond to it.

The number to call is (516) 500-PCBB (7222) so give it a shot and have your voice heard.
