2019 Al-Amir Dawes Begins Official Visit to Providence

Providence is looking to add to their 2019 recruiting class that was kicked off by the commitment of North Carolina wing forward, Greg Gantt in late July. Whereas Gantt committed without ever visiting the Providence campus, 2019 guard Al-Amir Dawes is set to begin his official visit to Friartown on Thursday, per Pat Lawless at PrepCircuit.com. Dawes has had a lot of interaction with the Providence staff already this month with an unofficial visit to campus in the first week of September followed by a visit to The Patrick School by the Friars the next week. Dawes cut his list down to 8 schools less than two weeks ago and, according to the PrepCircuit.com article, plans to visit Clemson and UConn after his trip to Providence.

Final 8 schools announced by Al-Amir Dawes on his Instagram account

Dawes plans to make a decision before the high school season begins, so Friar fans should keep a close eye on his visits over the next few weeks. The Friars are also chasing hard after 2019 Akok Akok with Ed Cooley and Brian Blaney stopping by Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut earlier this week to see the 5-star forward. Providence currently has two open scholarships for the 2019-20 season.
