Recap
- Providence welcomed Creighton to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center for the 22nd meeting all-time between the two schools. The Friars were seemingly in control from the jump and they were able to get out to a decent lead due to a Creighton scoring drought in the first half of the first half but the Bluejays hung around and Providence led by only 3 at the half despite Creighton shooting 29% from the field. After Creighton took a 39-38 lead at the 17:55 mark of the second half the Friars grabbed the lead back, 41-38, on a Jalen Lindsey triple and they never looked back.
- Providence was led by Alpha Diallo with a career-high 21 points on 9/15 shooting. He also added 10 rebounds.
- Creighton was led by Marcus Foster with 22 on 7/16 shooting.
- The game was played in front of a sellout crowd of 12,927. That’s the largest Dunk crowd this season.
- Providence improves to 14-6 on the season on the season and their record in Big East play is now 5-2.
- The Friars have a quick turnaround to take on (1) Villanova in Philadelphia on Tuesday.That game tips at 6:30pm on FS1.
