2018 Kris Monroe Commits to Providence

Ed Cooley and the Friars added another early 2018 commitment with 2018 shooting forward Kris Monroe pledged to Providence Thursday night via his Twitter account. Providence assistant Jeff Battle was the lead on Monroe who is from Raleigh, NC. The Friars offered the 6’7 Monroe last July.

Monroe ran with Team Wall and was a player Cooley tracked personally often in the critical recruiting month of July. Eric Bossi of Rivals.com, in an article recapping the last Friday of the July live periods wrote “I was impressed by Monroe’s unique blend of physical play and shot making. He looks like a college player already and has really added more skill to his perimeter game.”

Monroe joins AJ Reeves in Providence’s 2018 recruiting class. That leaves Cooley with 3 more open scholarships as of now. Cooley’s next key recruit is Providence native David Duke who is with Reeves in Houston this weekend for the adidas Nations event.

More to come on Monroe.
