Providence Recruiting Guide to the First July 2017 Live Evaluation Period
The first July live evaluation period has arrived and the Providence coaching staff will be out and about stalking down talented future Friars all across the country over the next few days. A live evaluation period means college coaches are allowed to attend and evaluate recruits at certified events. This particular evaluation period begins on July 12th at 5pm and is active through 5pm on July 16th. To read about why the July live periods are so crucial for recruiting, check out this excellent article by Rob Dauster at College Basketball Talk. All three major shoe company circuits have their playoffs/finals during this first live period of July. Nike has their EYBL Peach Jam, adidas finishes off their Gaunlet series and Under Armour Association finals are also played over the next several days. All three of these events are conveniently located in a nice circle so the coaches can go back and forth between all three major events between now and Sunday.
As I traditionally do each spring and summer, I’ll be providing a guide for fans to follow along and see where Providence’s targets are playing during a given live evaluation period. This post will be updated as the weekend goes on and more information is known. The name of the assistant next to the player’s name indicates who the lead assistant is for that player and does not necessarily mean that coach will be at that event
Note: All teams are 17U unless otherwise noted.
