Tickets on Sale Now for November 2017 2K Classic at MSG featuring Providence

The Big East Tournament got underway on Wednesday night and Providence’s quarterfinal matchup against Creighton at Madison Square Garden takes place later this evening. No coach likes to look ahead even a game but Providence fans can look all the way ahead to November 2017 beginning today. Fans now have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the 2017 2K Classic Championship Round that will feature the Friars as one of four headlining teams.

Providence, Saint Louis, Virginia Tech and Washington are the four main attraction schools competing in the tournament next season. Each of those teams will host two games on their respective campuses against the group of Belmont, Detroit Mercy, Houston Baptist and Seattle. Those campus site games are in addition to playing at Madison Square Garden on November 16th and 17th.

The matchups will be announced at a later date. All four games played at Madison Square Garden will be televised on ESPN networks. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 866-448-7849. Indiana was supposed to play in this event but was recently replaced by Saint Louis.

The 2K Classic has benefited the Wounded Warrior Project since 2012. Michigan defeated SMU in the championship game this season on November 18, 2016. Marquette competed in the 2016 tournament and Georgetown finished runner-up in 2015. This will be Providence’s first ever appearance in the 2K Classic, which was previously called the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic from 1995-2011. The event has been played at Madison Square Garden since 2002.
