Recruiting News: ESPN Released Expanded Top 100 for the Class of 2017

ESPN expanded their Class of 2017 rankings from 60 to 100 and Providence continues to be involved with highly-ranked players each recruiting cycle under Ed Cooley. The addition of Ivan Thomas has brought more Boo Williams players onto Providence’s target list but there are still plenty of recruits from the Northeast on the Friar coaching staff’s big board.

Providence recruits in the Top 100:

  • #12 – Hamidou Diallo – 6’4 SG – Putnam Science Academy/Queens, NY
  • #22 – Quade Green – 5’11 PG – Neumann-Goretti HS/Philadelphia, PA
  • #27 – Matt Coleman – 6’2 PG – Oak Hill Academy/Norfolk, VA
  • #31 – Tremont Waters – 5’11 PG – South Kent/South Kent, CT
  • #32 – Makai Ashton-Langord – 6’2 PG – Cushing Academy/Worcester, MA
  • #35 – Jordan Tucker – 6’7 SF – Stepinac/White Plains, NY
  • #59 – Jermaine Samuels – 6’6 SF – Rivers School/Franklin, MA
  • #60 – Kimani Lawrence – 6’6 SF – New Hampton/Providence, RI
  • #63 – Hameir Wright – 6’8 SF – Albany Academy/Albany, NY
  • #80 – Deng Gak – 6’9 C – Blair Academy/Blairstown, Australia
  • #82 – Christian David – 6’5 SG – Vermont Academy/Milton, Canada

  • Providence commit Dajour Dickens is just outside the Top 100. The 100th player has 4-stars and a grade of 82. Dickens also has 4-stars but possesses a grade of 80.
  • There are 19 players in the Top 100 committed already, including three players committed to Big East schools. Creighton has two of those commits, while Seton Hall has the other.
