Weekly College Basketball Polls Update: March 7th

Week 18 of the college basketball polls have been released and Providence got votes this week, but the Friars still aren’t back inside the Top 25 in either poll. Providence went 2-0 last week with a win on Senior Night at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center against Creighton and a road win at Madison Square Garden against St. John’s to close the regular season at 22-9. The Friars finished the season 10-8 in Big East play and will take on Butler at Madison Square Garden on Thursday in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. The Friars moved from NRV last week in the AP Poll to XXth and from 30th to 27th in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll this week.

  • Villanova: AP 3 (Prv: 3), Coaches’ 2 (Prv: 2)
  • Xavier: AP 5 (Prv: 5), Coaches’ 5 (Prv: 5)
  • Seton Hall: AP 29 (Prv: 27), Coaches’ 28 (Prv: 28)
  • Providence: AP t-31st (Prv: NRV), Coaches’ 27 (Prv: 30)
  • Butler: AP t-31 (Prv: NRV), Coaches’ t-32 (Prv: NRV)

Providence’s Non-Conference Opponents

  • Michigan State: AP 2 (Prv: 2), Coaches’ 3 (Prv: 3)
  • Arizona: AP 15 (Prv: 18), Coaches’ 14 (Prv: 16)
