Weekly College Basketball Polls Update: February 29th

Week 17 of the college basketball polls have been released and Providence has dropped out of the USA Today Coaches’ Poll a week after dropping out of the AP Top 25. Providence went 1-1 last week with a loss at surging Seton Hall and a win over DePaul at home. The Friars are now 8-8 in Big East play and will take on Creighton at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Wednesday before finishing the regular season at Madison Square Garden against St. John’s. The Friars moved from 27th to receiving no votes in the AP Poll and from 24th to 30th in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll this week.

The Big East

  • Villanova: AP 3 (Prv: 1), Coaches’ 2 (Prv: 1)
  • Xavier: AP 5 (Prv: 5), Coaches’ 5 (Prv: 4)
  • Seton Hall: AP 27 (Prv: NRV), Coaches’ 28 (Prv: 34)
  • Providence: AP NRV (Prv: 27), Coaches’ 30 (Prv: 24)

Providence’s Non-Conference Opponents

  • Michigan State: AP 2 (Prv: 6), Coaches’ 3 (Prv: 7)
  • Arizona: AP 18 (Prv: 9), Coaches’ 16 (Prv: 10)
