Providence Recruiting Update: National Prep Invitational at Rhode Island College

The National Prep Invitational will be played at nearby Rhode Island College starting on Thursday with games running through Sunday afternoon. The Providence coaching staff is expected to spend plenty of time taking in the action at RIC over the next few days. There are more than 15 recruits that Providence is involved with from the classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018 that are expected to play in this event. Cox Hub will be streaming 9 games from the NPSI between Thursday and Saturday. The games that will be streamed can be found at this link and they are in bold with an asterisk below.

The Friars obviously need help in the frontcourt — made even more clear after the horrific rebounding performance against DePaul — and there are a couple of 2016 big men that have Providence interest playing this weekend. The first is South Kent’s Andrew Gordon. Providence has expressed interest, but they haven’t pulled the trigger on an offer. The other player does hold an offer from the Friars. That player is Kalif Young of Orangeville Prep. Young was offered by Providence on January 9th and some bigger programs like Duke and Indiana have sent assistants to watch Young play over the last few weeks.

Here are the Providence targets that are expected to play in this event:

Class of 2016

Class of 2017

Class of 2018
