Providence Announces New Dunkin’ Donuts Center Policy

Those fans who have been grumbling about the long and slow lines to get into the Dunkin’ Donuts Center will be happy with this announcement. No, the new policy isn’t $1 beers before every home game — damn you, Creighton and your fun policies. This new policy will allow fans to get into their seats 90 minutes ahead of the scheduled tip time. The previous policy only allowed fans entry 60 minutes before the tip. It remains to be seen if this will have any impact on those who wait until the very last second to close their bar tabs at Trinity Brewhouse or Murphy’s, but it should at least alleviate some of the logjam of those who arrive early. Here is the email that Providence’s Athletic Department sent out earlier Thursday:

Dear Friar Fans,

In an effort to provide the best gameday experience to all Friar Fans, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center will now open doors 90 minutes prior to tip-off. We hope that by providing fans more time to enter the arena, it will help us reduce lines and create a more enjoyable experience. We encourage you to arrive early and take advantage of this opportunity for each of the remaining home games!

This change will begin on Saturday, January 16th when the Friars take on Seton Hall at 4:30pm. Doors will open at 3:00pm. For all remaining games, the doors will open at the following times:

– Tuesday, January 19 vs. Butler: Doors open at 5:00pm

– Tuesday, January 26 vs. Xavier: Doors open at 7:00pm

– Saturday, February 6 vs. Villanova: Doors open at 1:00pm

– Saturday, February 13 vs. Georgetown: Doors open at 10:30am

– Saturday, February 27 vs. DePaul: Doors open at 2:30pm

– Wednesday, March 2 vs. Creighton: Doors open at 7:30pm

Thank you for your support and Go Friars!
