Kevin Marfo Chooses George Washington

Kevin Marfo cut his list down to a final three before announcing his decision: Boston College, George Washington and Providence. He made his announcement on Twitter Friday and Marfo chose the George Washington Colonials of the Atlantic 10. Sources had told pcbb1917.com earlier in the week that Providence was no longer in consideration for the New Jersey native’s services.

Though the Providence coaching staff would have taken commitments from both Marfo and Sedee Keita it’s clear Keita is the priority recruit in the class of 2016. Brian Blaney was the lead recruiting assistant on Marfo but Cooley had stepped in as the process got closer to a conclusion. Marfo visited all of his final schools before deciding with his final visit being taken to George Washington last weekend. Mike Lonergan is getting a rebounding machine in Marfo who will do very well in the Atlantic 10.

Providence now continues to keep their sights set on Keita’s visit to campus the weekend of October 16th in addition to keeping tabs on wing Jalen Johnson. Johnson visited Providence the weekend of September 18th and was at Tennessee for an official visit last weekend. Johnson may be down to Providence and Tennessee, according to a source. If Johnson doesn’t commit to one of those schools soon more visits will be scheduled.
