2016 Putnam Science Academy PF Sedee Keita Down to Six

Providence coaches have begun to zero in on their top targets in the class of 2016 over these last few weeks. One of those players that has been given extra attention is 2016 PF Sedee Keita. Keita, who is now enrolled at Putnam Science Academy, has received at least two visits from the Providence staff since the recruiting period began on September 9th. On Monday night Keita cut his list down to a final six, according to Alex Kline. The cut-down list is made up of LSU, Penn State, Providence, South Carolina, Temple, UNLV. Keita confirmed the news via his Twitter account.

Providence coaches have been on Keita since his time at Vermont Academy where he spent his freshman and sophomore years of high school. He took a brief interlude in South Carolina at 22-Feet Academy last year and is now back in New England with Tom Espinosa’s program at PSA. During the grassroots season Keita ran with the WER1 program on the Under Armour Association circuit. That’s the same program that Friar sophomore Ben Bentil ran with during his high school career.

The final list shows the dichotomy between his years in the NEPSAC and his one year in South Carolina. Keita grew up in Middeltown, Delaware so Temple and Penn State would be considered the hometown teams. All indications are that the Friars are in solid shape with Keita. So far he has a visit set for South Carolina for October 10th but no other visit dates have been announced.

Any concern with the Under Armour connections (South Carolina and Temple are sponsored)?
