Providence Offers 2017 PF/C Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree

Not to be deterred by recent misses with members of Team Final, the Providence coaching staff extended a scholarship offer to 2017 PF/C Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, per his Twitter account. Cosby-Roundtree ran with Team Final’s U16 team on the Nike EYBL circuit this spring and summer.

Cosby-Roundtree was offered by Big East rival Villanova on Tuesday and holds other offers from La Salle, Monmouth, Old Dominion, Penn State, Rider, St. Joseph’s, Temple and VCU. The offers from Penn State and VCU came right after his strong performance at the Nike Peach Jam event held during the first live evaluation period of July. He averaged 17.3 points/game and 9.3 rebounds/game during Team Final’s 4 games at the Peach Jam. His Team Final coach was also very complimentary of him in an article at CityOfBasketballLove.com:

“(Dhamir) is probably the hardest-working kid, one of the hardest-working kids I’ve ever coached,” said Team Final’s 16U coach Aaron Burt, who was named the EYBL’s Coach of the Year in 2014 while leading the oldest group in the program. “He listens, he’s very receptive, he doesn’t talk back, he’s a leader. He does everything you ask for and he pays attention to detail.”

His scouting report at CityOfBasketballLove.com says he “has some serious upside, if he puts it all together…The coordination is there, he just needs to put a couple go-to moves in his game.” This marks the 6th power forward or center that the Friars have offered in the class of 2017, along with Mohammed Bamba, Samuel Japhet-Mathias, Zach Kent, Tomas Murphy and Aamir Simms.
