Washington Transfer Nigel Williams-Goss Picks Gonzaga Over Providence, Others

Nigel Williams-Goss announced his intention to transfer from the University of Washington on April 9th. The Oregon native has chosen Gonzaga over Providence and UNLV. Williams-Goss was also scheduled to visit Ohio State on May 8th. He went on visits to UNLV and Providence prior to committing while on his visit to Gonzaga and entertained in-home visits from Georgetown, Texas and Providence during the recruitment process. The Providence visit was on April 25th and Williams-Goss and his parents attended the Friars’ end of season banquet that evening.

Williams-Goss was believed to be a UNLV lean as he attended Findlay Prep in Nevada and was coached by current UNLV assistant Todd Simon. This is a very good get for Mark Few and Gonzaga and will be eligible for the 2016-17 season after sitting out next season, per NCAA transfer rules. Williams-Goss will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Ed Cooley and his staff will now have to turn their attention to other players on the transfer market or the class of 2015 if they want to add someone. The only 2015 player that has been mentioned recently is Lorne Currie who has yet to schedule an official visit to Providence. A recent name on the transfer market that has been contacted by Providence is NC State power forward transfer Kyle Washington.
