Providence Reaches Out To Miami (FL) Transfer Manu Lecomte

Adam Zagoria reported that Providence is among a group of schools to recently reach out to Miami (FL) transfer Manu Lecomte. Lecomte is leaving Miami after two seasons and 71 games played. The 5’11 point guard averaged 7.9 points/game and shot an impressive 45.6% from beyond the arc on 114 attempts for Jim Larranaga a season ago.

Lecomte was held scoreless in 15 minutes in the December tilt against the Friars at the Barclays Center. Miami’s crowded backcourt is presumed to be the reason for the talented Belgian native’s decision to transfer. Lecomte will have to sit out the 2015-16 season, per NCAA transfer rules and would then have 2 years of eligibilty remaining.

This is the second sophomore point guard in the last week that has gotten interest from Providence. The Friars will get a visit from University of Washington transfer Nigel Williams-Goss on April 25th. Providence also will get an official visit from 2015 guard Lorne Currie and will have 6’6 wing Eric Paschall on campus this weekend as he decides whether to transfer from Fordham after his freshman season.
