Big East Bracketology Update 2/19/15

It’s been a couple of weeks since the last Big East Bracketology update and there has been a few significant changes throughout the conference over that span. Seton Hall has taken a nosedive while Butler, Providence and Georgetown continue to look like NCAA Tournament locks with each passing day. Xavier got a nice road win at Cincinnati last night to help their bubble resume and St. John’s is still teetering on the bring. Let’s get into Joe Lunardi’s Thursday bracket release.

Here is a breakdown of Lunardi’s latest bracket:

• Villanova – #2 seed in East vs. #15 Florida Gulf Coast – AQ for Big East
• Butler – #5 seed in West vs. #12 Iona
• Providence – #6 seed in Midwest vs. #11 Stanford/Boise St
• Georgetown – #6 seed in South vs. #11 Illinois
• Xavier – #9 seed in Midwest vs. #8 Michigan St
• St. John’s – #12 seed in East vs. #12 NC State – Last 4 In

The biggest mover in the last couple of weeks since the last update is Xavier who has moved up 2 lines from 11 to 9. St. John’s moved from just out to just in and needs to finish the league season strong and win some games in the Big East Tournament to keep their NCAA dream alive. Everyone else basically stayed the same in terms of the seed line.
