2015 Guard Kobie Eubanks Cuts List to 10

I have previously written about Kobie Eubanks back in late November after Providence coaches took in his impressive 37 point performance at the National Prep Showcase in New Haven on the Friday before the Friars played in the Hall of Fame Tipoff at Mohegan Sun. Eubanks is doing a postgrad year at Elev8 Sports Institute in Florida following his failure to qualify at Baylor as a member of the class of 2014.

On Monday he informed Scout.com that he cut his list of schools down to 10 and Providence made the cut for the 121st ranked player according to 247sports’ composite national rankings. Scout.com is the service that ranks him the highest at 53rd nationally.

His 10 school list consists of Providence along with Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, Oregon, South Florida and Virginia Tech.

Eubanks will visit Oregon this weekend and plans to take another visit later in January though a specific school was not mentioned for that visit. He did mention that he will take another cut of his list in mid-February following those two campus visits and plans to make his decision at the end of his school’s season. Eubanks played at Our Savior New American last season and ran with Each-1-Teach-1 on the grassroots circuit with Providence signee Alex Owens.

I must admit that cutting a list to 10 then taking 2 visits and cutting it further after just those 2 visits makes absolutely no sense to me but no one said recruiting was supposed to make any sense. I’ll continue to monitor this process so that you don’t really have to. Stay tuned for more updates on Eubanks and any other recruits in 2015.
