Providence Extends Offer to 2016 Wing Player from Florida

Providence extended an offer to Jonathan Isaac who is a versatile wing/stretch 4 playing for the International School of Broward in Florida.

Isaac blew up in the Spring AAU season this year following a broken forearm that caused him to miss half of his high school season. The 6’9 wing player had his breakout event at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in early May 2014 with Scout.com’s Evan Daniels saying the following:

Jonathan Isaac, SF, Florida United – Easily the biggest revelation of the day came from the first game of the day. Isaac, a slight 6-foot-6 wing with lengthy arms, came out firing against the Upward Stars. Isaac, a confident shooter, made three long-range shots, including one from well past the line. Isaac competed on defense, was active the entire game and showed impressive mobility. After his stirring performance Isaac told Scout.com that not one school is recruiting him.

Later in the AAU season Scout.com’s Rob Harrington commented on Isaac’s play in July’s “Best of the South” event in Georgia:

He’s very thin, long and skilled, like [Brandon] Ingram, but he’s no imitation. Isaac has his own style, which includes above-average quickness despite his lack of muscle and a mechanically sound jump shot to the three-point line. He also handles and passes pretty well, and hopefully as he gains weight he’ll become more athletic. Regardless, at 6-8 he’s plenty tall to be a stretch four, and the Hollywood (Fla.) International School of Broward product will be a high-major mainstay for the remainder of his recruitment.

Isaac currently lists offers from Arkansas State, East Carolina, Florida State, Mississippi State, Providence, South Florida, UAB and UCF. He has been shooting up the rankings of the various recruiting services with Rivals initially listing him 144th in September but moving him all the way to 50th in their latest release in mid-November.
