Providence Expects All 2015 Recruits to Sign During Fall Signing Period

The Fall National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing period began Wednesday and Twitter and other social media have been buzzing with recruits sending in their signed NLI’s to their respective schools.

Here is where Providence stands during this signing period:

2015 Florida big man Alex Owens is expected to sign and send in his NLI on Wednesday. The Orlando Sentinel reported that news. There has been no confirmation on whether he sent it or it was received yet but I’ll update this post once that information is know. Owens was named by 247Sports’ Jerry Meyer as the best rebounding recruit among Big East teams in this class. Brian Snow of Scout.com also named Owens as the best rounder among Big East commits in the class of 2015.

2015 Maryland guard Drew Edwards will send his NLI to Providence on Thursday, per his father. Edwards was named as the sleeper recruit in the Big East by Rivals.com’s Recruiting Analyst Eric Bossi.

2015 Indiana wing forward Ryan Fazekas announced on Twitter that he will sign his NLI at his school, Marquette Catholic, on November 18th during a ceremony at 12:40pm. Fazekas was the first commit in the class of 2015 for Ed Cooley back in October 2013 following a trip to Friartown for Late Night Madness.

As for where this class is being ranked both nationally and within the BIg East, 247Sports national ranking has Providence’s 2015 class as 43rd nationally and 4th in the Big East behind Marquette, Villanova and Georgetown. Scout.com ranked the Friars 5th behind those 3 teams plus Creighton.
