2018 Cole Swider Cut His List After the April Live Periods

2018 wing Cole Swider announced that he has cut his list to 8 schools on Wednesday. Creighton, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Providence, Syracuse, Villanova and Xavier made the cut. Swider, who was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Rhode Island recently for his play at St. Andrew’s in Barrington, has decided to trim some of the multitude of offers he has received to a more manageable number shortly after the end of the second live recruiting period of April. During those two weekends in April, Swider ran with BABC on the Nike EYBL circuit in Hampton, VA and then Indianapolis, IN.

BABC went 6-2 through the first two weekends of the EYBL and Swider is leading the team in scoring at 20.6 points/game, while shooting 42.1% from beyond the arc. He also averaged 6.0 rebounds/game and 1.9 steals/game. Ed Cooley and his staff have made it clear to Swider that he is one of their priority recruits in the 2018 class. Cooley took the Providence coach bus down to Portsmouth last month for an in-home visit with the Swider family. There are 5 open roster spots right now for the 2018-19 season so the Friars are looking to add quite a few players, but Swider is one they’d love to keep home.
