- The sellout crowd came riled up and ready for the first ever matchup of top 10 teams at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The action started fast and furious with Xavier getting out to an 7-0 lead only to have the Friars answer with an 8-0 run of their own.
- The story of this game is Providence’s poor shooting. The Friars finished the game shooting 22/70, or 31%, from the field.
- Ben Bentil led all scorers with 25 points. Bentil also grabbed 6 rebounds.
- Kris Dunn got off to a hot start but didn’t shoot a great percentage over the course of the night. Dunn finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals.
- The Friars return to action on Saturday, January 30th against Georgetown at the Verizon Center at 8:00pm EST. The game will be televised on FS1.

Three things:
1) Ricky Council. Whats Coach Cooley thinking putting him in?
2) Quadree Smith should have been redshirted this year. That boy needs some conditioning work with Coach White.
3) Fazekas needs to work on his ball handling. Not strong with the ball.
While Kris Dunn did get off to a quick start…he KILLED this HUGE OPPORTUNITY for the FRIARS!!! As usual Dunn’s turnovers were momentum killers!! Dunn has been hampered his whole career by turnovers…when is he going to realize one of your number one jobs as a point guard is to PROTECT the ball!! This game was a huge lost opportunity for the FRIARS!! They will never win the “Big” ones if Dunn continues to play like he’s on the playground!!
Agree 100 percent. Amazing talent. Providence is so fortunate to have a player like him. Has been carless with the ball late forcing the ball in bad spots.
Hey Hopkins how was the crowd at last nights game? It sounded very loud on the television.
