Henton Named USBWA District 1 Player of the Year, Dunn on All-District Team

On Tuesday the US Basketball Writers Association announced their All-District teams and District Players of the Year. Providence’s duo of LaDontae Henton and Kris Dunn were recognized. Dunn was named the the All-District 1 Team along with Henton. Henton was named the District 1 Player of th Year. District 1 comprises Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

On Monday Henton was named as a finalist for the inaugural Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award, while Dunn got snubbed for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year. On Monday Dunn was named the Big East’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year with St. John’s Sir’Dominic Pointer and Dunn was also named a Second Team All-American by NBCSports.com’s Rob Dauster.
