LaDontae Henton Named Big East Player of the Week

LaDontae Henton has been named the Big East Player of the Week after a 22 point, 11 rebound performance in Providence’s win at DePaul in the Friars’ only action last week. Henton has now been named Big East Player of the Week three times this season while his teammate Kris Dunn has gotten the honor twice.

Henton currently tops the Big East at 20.6 points/game and he’s 10th in rebounding at 6.0 rebounds/game. The scoring mark puts him in a tie for 8th nationally. Henton was also named as a finalist for the inaugural Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award last week. The award is presented by the Naismith Hall of Fame and will be given out on April 10th during ESPN’s College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles.
